Snow Day!

Yay!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

We have officially had that one other snow this year- but I pesonally didn't find it worthy of playing in.
Today we were out in the yard for hours! I don't think the kids have had this much fun in ages!

Weigh in, week 2

Down 6 lbs from the original weight. Down 3 lbs from last week's "official" weight- which did a lot of fluctuating both directions.
I've been really good all week, with the exception of Saturday.
We attended a birthday party, and then a date night, and went out with friends.
I ate 2 grilled hot dogs, a handful of doritos, potato salad, 2 cups of sprite/sherbert punch, chocolate birthday cake, friend mushrooms, salad with full-fat ranch dressing, a loaded baked potato, a 6oz ribeye, bread with lots of butter, and 2 margaritas.
Then I had 3 glasses of wine at the play.
YUM! I fully enjoyed every bite of it, too!

On, I think Friday, I slid comfortably into a pair of jeans that I was on the verge of abandoning.
My face looks really thin, with the exception of that darned double chin. Lol.
I am definitely getting a little validation and seeing some results. My hard work is paying off! Woohoo!

Oh, and I tied for 8th place in the Biggest Loser contest last week.
I hope to place a little higher this week.
Some of the girls that had a really high loss last time seem to be holding steady, while I'll be reporting another 3 lb loss, which is really quite good!

a baby no more?

So, in 13 days- my baby will be 3 years old.

The little baby that still throws her arms around my neck, asks to "hold you me" all day.

The very one that asks me to "rock the baby" at night, with her blanket wrapped around her, then sleeps outside the covers with her feet on my neck.

The sweet little baby that won't even play on a playground if her brother is at school, and that screams her head off with joy as soon as the lock turns because "DADDY'S HOME!"

The little thing that used to be so tiny, I couldn't even find a pair of pants to fit her.
Now, at 42lbs, I can only fit her into stretchy ones.

The girl with the most beautiful curls I have ever seen... not too tight, gorgeous spiral, shiny and bouncy. Oooh... I'm so jealous!
And those eyes... warm and brown. You can just see *love* when you look into them.
I don't think I am biased a bit... she really is the most beautiful little girl on this Earth. ;-)

She loves to dance, and sing, and definitely has a FLAIR for the DRAMATIC!
As I watched a play with friends Saturday night- I kept thinking... I'll bet there are MANY plays in my future. I think my angel was born to preform!

I have her tiny, intimate birthday party in the works. I've decided that she would enjoy just having her 2 best friends there, and so would I. ;-)
As is her perogative, being a woman-in-the-making, she changed her mind. No more "Pink Superman." We're going Care Bears, baby!
So much for the Supergirl stickers and tatoos that are on their way to my door as we speak.

I have her preschool application all ready to turn in. She can't wait until she gets to "Stay at school and say bye-bye Momma."
I think I'll go nuts when I walk away from her. I'll sit behind the wondow and cry until it's time to go home.

3 just seems so BIG. It's a leap from toddler to preschooler. From baby, to child.
And this is my BABY we're talking about.

I remember when Jacob turned 3. I don't really remember when he turned 4, or got to be almost 5! It flew by, FLEW, and it breaks my heart.
And now we're going to strap those wings on the little one.

You all know how I get on their birthdays. Hell- birthdays in general. I can watch waiters singing "happy birthday" to a kid in a resteraunt and tear up.
But when it's MY babies, well, the word maudlin comes to mind. One of those SAT words that stuck with me, lol.
I'll cry for weeks, hug them tighter and more often, choke down some cake through my tears... and finally accept the fact that they are going to grow all the way up.
Until the next birthday that is, when I'll have to repeat the whole process.

Laugh at me. I don't care. If it's a crime to love my babies too much... well then, I'll have my husband cuff me later tonight. Lol!

Roll play,

Most of my day is spent being called anything but Momma.
Lately, I am either "Pig" or "Lenny" or "Mommy Jaguar" or "SuperMom." The last is my personal favorite.

That is because my lovely, imaginative little girl loves to roll play.
Usually, we are the Wonderpets. We sing our theme song, make our flyboat, say "OOOooooo," and save the day.
Sometimes she is "Arnold," the little pig, so I am "Pig," her big cousin. Jacob will have to be "Kipper," our friend that's a dog. Then we play all sorts of games. Basically, whatever these characters did on their PBS show that day.
Of course- we play Supers a LOT. I cannot tell you how much I love "flying" around the house with a blanket tied on my neck. Weeeee...

More Jacob-isms

Last night we were racing to Jacob's bedroom to put pajamas on.
The little booger started pushing me so he could get past!

I said "Hey! You're pushing me!"
He replies, very logically "Momma. I HAD to win!"

Then we were picking t-shirts to wear to bed. Among our options is one that says "Yeah, I know. Go to my room."
I read it to him, and he says "Because I always get in trouble."
I asked "Do you get in trouble a lot?"
"Well... sometimes I do. And sometimes I don't."

He was carrying around a shoebox last night, with the lid on. Lucy was chasing him around the house, dying to know what was in his "secret box."
He told her "Lucy- that is for me to know, and you not to figure out."

Poor fella missed school Thursday, and he is still pretty congested and tired today (Monday). I am really hoping he gets to go tomorrow. He loves it SO much now (as does miss Punkin, for the 30 seconds she gets to run in)!
Plus- I can't wait to see what he has to say when I pick him up. Lol!

Never a dull moment

Last night after the 15th time I had sent my son to bed, he responded with "Okay momma. Whatever you say so."

15 seconds later he came back in with an odd smirk on his face and asked "ummm... did I just say that?"
I said "yes, you did." (still chuckling)

He laughs and says "Okay" and went to bed.

Today, I hear my kids arguing over the bathroom.
Lucy yells "No! I want to poo poo."
Figuring this is one of their wierd games, and the fact that she has already pooped today- I ignore them.

5 minutes later she brings me a bucket of liquid. Warm.
"did you pee pee in this bucket?" I ask.
"No." she says certainly.
I sniff it. Eeeeew.
"Lucy. Did you pee pee in the bucket?"
"no." She says again, hiding her face with he hair and walking away.

Yea, she did.
I didn't even know what to say.
Peeing in a bucket is super gross...
But that's really a huge step in the potty training direction...
Also nice aim for someone who is barely out of diapers. Lol.

So I told her: We don't pee in buckets, we pee in the potty. But I am very proud that you didn't wet your panties! (shrug)

Kids.

Weigh in- week 1

I am really bummed about this weigh in.
Yesterday morning I weighed myself, and I was down 6 pounds! Woohoo!
But today, I am back up 4 of those. WTH? I am so upset. I weighed myself no less than 30 times today, and finally managed to get down one more pound. So I started at **6, yesterday I was **0, and today I am **3.
I must be retaining water or something. Ugh.

I also think I need a new scale. Is it really normal to fluctuate THAT much? Jeez!

So... I guess that the coca-cola portion of my life has passed. I miss it, haven't had one in 11 days now. GAWD I miss my nice, cold, bubbly stuff.
I have had about 1 coke zero a day, but it's not the same. I can't even finish them. That is just my way of battling the caffiene withdrawels, and tricking myself into thinking I'm satisfied.
It doesn't work.
(well... if you pour some nice parrot bay rum in there, they aren't all that bad, But I don't think rum is good for the old diet!)

I've been so, SO good. I am ready for some kind of reward.
I can't have a cookie, but I can't see results either. I damned if I do, damned if I don't. Stupid diet.

I'll update next Monday.

Quote of the day

"Superheroes don't have time to pick up their toys. They have savin' to do!"
~Jacob, age 4 yrs 9 mos

I wish that I would write down every word that comes out of my childrens' mouths.
They really crack me up.
Jacob talks SO much now, about so many random things. He just blows me away with the stuff he knows, and the way his little mind works. He is also learning to argue, negotiate, and reason with us- sometimes it's fun, usually it is not.
And Lucy- I am just happy to hear her talking at all. Every time she says, well- pretty much ANYTHING- I can't help but grin.
"I'm MOMMA's girl!" is a big favorite. We hear lots of "I'm so HONgry" and "I wanna peanut butter sammich" and "Jacob do dat." Oh, and of course, we talk about her "pink superman party" every single day. She also wants to "Stay at school and say 'bye bye momma'" just as soon as possible.

It's not cute

Apparently, some people think this is cute-
Negativity, "speaking your mind," being judgemental, and acting tough.

No. It's not.

Bad attitudes really get me down.
Judgement and superiority complexes really tick me off.
I call it "Being a bitch."

So- here are a few pointers:
*Manners are cool, kids.
*Just because you think something, doesn't mean you have to say it.
*Opinions are like a-holes, and you know the rest...
*It's okay to be polite, even NICE. It doesn't make you weak.
*You don't know as much as you think you know. I promise.
*And for goodness sake people- let's all be HAPPY!

I want to be the biggest loser

I am participating in a "biggest loser" contest.
Can I just say- it's day 3- and I have come to a conclusion. Dieting just doesn't agree with me.

I want a coke. I want a cheeseburger. I have a headache, and I am grumpy.

But I'm not quitting.
I have decided that I want to lose 40lbs. That is to be at *my* ideal weight. Perfection.

I'm doing this in baby steps. Not killing myself. Just making small, healthy changes. Drinking more water. Avoiding sodas as much as possible. Only snacking on healthy foods. Making a conscious effort to excercise and eat good things.

I may not win the contest- but I can't really lose here, can I?

Wednesday, January 10, 2007

Go away!

To my headache, that is.
I want to take the monkeys to the park today, before it gets COLD this weekend.

This morning Cotton and I planned what we'll do with out lottery winnings. I'm sorry to say- some of you aren't getting jack from us. Deal with it. But then, some of you are. When the check gets here, I guess you'll all find out.
Oh, and I hope he rememebers to buy a ticket today.
We just missed a $122 million jackpot! Dang it!

my kid is wierd

He eats like a little bird all day.
Refuses breakfast. Picks at lunch. Has a tiny snack. Picks at dinner. On school days he *will* actually be starving when I pick him up, but that's only twice a week

So... every night at about 7-8PM, let the binge begin! The kid eats non stop for hours- just try to stop him!

Starting around 7ish tonight he had: an apple, carrot sticks, a ham and cheese sandwich, cookies, orange juice, another apple, an ice cream cone, more cookies, peanut butter, grape juice, a glass of water, and finally the doritos he kept begging for! GAH!
And I even turned him down on a few things.

I firmly believe that young children eat when they need to eat, and stop when they need to stop. At least, my children do.
I have never forced them to eat anything, and never denied them healthy food.
Bad eating habits are something we learn, they are not innate.
So- I'm rolling with him on this. But it's still wierd. ;)

since I don't do resolutions

here are some things from 2006 that I am proud of:

*I put myself out there, I risked being hurt
*I did the right thing
*I told my babies how much I love them every day
*I savored the little moments
*I listened to my son, no matter how long he talked or how many times he started over
*I picked my battles
*I read books, and talked to people, and learned that the best way to "handle" Lucy is to let her be Lucy
*I learned to be away from my son a little, and I survived it
*I learned to sew
*I had people actually pay money, good money, to buy things I made
*I went on a vacation
*I went on dates with my husband, even when I was really too tired
*I took better care of my feet
*I put myself in other people's shoes
*I made new friends
*I kept my house cleaner
*I tried different wines, and learned what I like
*I did a lot of forgiving
*I told my brother how much I love him
*I gave my husband and son some darn good haircuts
*I learned to make tortilla soup
*I learned to make guacamole
*I spared people's feelings, even when I didn't want to
*I caught fish
*I did things that were inconvenient, and made me uncomfortable, to help others
*I supported my best friend
*I tried to be more patient
*I tried harder, just for my husband
*I found new things to love about my husband
*I found new things to love about my kids
*I found new things to love about MYSELF

It seems I had a pretty good year, and life is only getting better!

and just like that

it's over.
My chest hurts- I swear I didn't breathe at all for 10 minutes.

Poor Romo. I want to cry for him. Can you even imagine how he must feel? Wow.

That was one hell of a season... what a roller coaster ride.
I'm almost glad it's over. Almost.
Let's work on the kid, draft some new defense, go ahead and get rid of TO, and take it home next season.
Yep- that's MY plan, anyway.

blah, blah, blah

Happy New Year, people. 2007 is here!

So far I've pretty much just sat at home and dealt with a sick kiddo. Woohoo!

But, we have had some fun on the homefront:

I discovered that Jacob has been doing my sudoku. He only wrote 8's, but hey- maybe it was the only number that would fit!
I knew the kid was a *genius*, right Brooks?

Lucy found a party supply catalog and flipped her lid.
She came screaming to me "I WANT DIS ONE! I WANT DIS ONE! A PINK SUPERMAN PARTY!!! I WANT DIS ONE!"
The child has been obsessed with her "boofday" for weeks, but she's been saying it will be "a pink burr-burrs party."
I mean, it's only 2 months away. Why stay calm for so long?
She's so stinkin cute!

I'm glad I didn't order the supplies yet!

Potty training was going SO WELL- until a week long stomach bug hit the girl. She's been "solid" for a day and a half, and asked for her panties tonight, so I'm hoping we can stay on the road to diaper free land!

We've been watching lots of football on Cotton's new favorite posession. Some good, some OH SO BAD.
Pllleeeeeeaaaaasse let us beat the Sea Hawks on Saturday. PLEASE!

I bought new tweezers and went to town on my eyebrows tonight, after waiting far too long. They look fabulous, if I do say so myself.
No pictures, sorry.

I bought bunches of new fabric, and have tons of ideas swimming around in my head. I amy actually sit down and design something concrete soon. Maybe.

Jacob decided he does not want to play soccer in the spring. It's still up in the air, though.
He is afraid of getting a new coach.
We may try something new instead... karate? We'll see!

School starts back next week. I am not one of those parents that is glad. I am oh-so-sad. I like having my boy with me all day.
He has a field trip- without me- riding the BUS next week, too.
I am fairly freaked out, but am not going to let MY anxiety ruin his fun.
And I hear it's only a 3.5 minute ride. So.... I can probably tough it out.

Hmmm... that about covers week one of 2007. I hope yours was just as exciting!

Sunday, December 24, 2006

11 minutes

until Christmas 2006.
It's been a bumpy ride- but here we are.
We've shopped, decorated, sat in Santa's lap, exchanged gifts, mailed cards, baked goodies, made gingerbread houses, looked at lights, sang songs... and this night has FINALLY arrived!

Santa has made his visit.
He ate the 2 dozen or so cookies that the kids left on a tray for him, drank his milk, and even had a frozen pizza...

He left Jacob a basketball goal, THE "big Superman," and some hard to find CARS toys. Along with a Lightning McQueen watch- and a stocking full of cool stuff.
Lucy got an adorable shopping cart, full and overflowing with groceries and appliances, and a talking Care Bear. Oh- and the MOST important "care bear snacks" that she was so sure Santa would bring. :-) He left a whole box!

I've already peeked in my stocking, and gotten my "big gift" from Cotton. I'll have to wait and post pics of it- words cannot describe. I couldn't be happier!
Speaking of indescribable.. there is also the gift that Cotton got himself. I won't say what it is, but it's 50 inches wide and HD. I was a little shocked when he came home with *that* thing! I must say my boy Romo is easier to watch these days...

No Christmas pictures tonight, sadly. blogger is giving me hell. (What else is new?) I have SO many to share, too!
But I did finally finish my Happy Feet post (scroll down), by adding pics the hard way. So- if pics are what you want- go have a look!

Merry Christmas my friends, my family, and any strangers that might be reading! I am off to bed!

Saturday, December 16, 2006

I've decided

I do NOT want to have Christmas at my house.
I did Thanksgiving. And Christmas last year, oh... and Thanksgiving last year.

Someone else can do the work for once.

Now we have to wait and see if I get my way... wish me luck!

Saturday, December 09, 2006

he was here...

and now he's gone again.

Aaron, aka "Bonk," got a 17 day leave for Thanksgiving.
It was so wonderful to see him, hug him, laugh with him.

Now he's in Washington state, 40 miles from Seattle. Who knows when his next leave will be?
He left Wednesday, and I miss him already. :-(

Happy Feet

We saw it, of course. The kids and I give it 6 thumbs up! We loved it!
I'm just not one of those parents that flips over "adult humor" and "innuendos." I was too busy laughing my ass off to worry about what was flying way over my kids' heads!

And after the movie, we went to the mall. While you wait on line for Santa- there is a big Happy Feet display. There are even clips and music from the movie playing!

Dorky as I am- I made the little people custom penguin outfits to wear to the movie...
I never got a decent picture of Jacob's shirt. Lucy is head-to-toe, matched to the "t", penguin. She even has a penguin bracelet by Susan, and custom bows. Yes, I am *that* bad. But in my defense- well... there's no good defense.
But Cotton told me long, looong ago that Jacob isn't my "dress up doll." Lucy is. So there.

Here she is dancing in line!

Here's the best shot I could get of Jacob's shirt. He looks absolutely thrilled, doesn't he?

Heehee!

Old St Nick

Although he looks really miserable- Jacob was bound and determined to talk to Santa Claus!
He climbed righ up in his lap, and told him "I want a BIG Superman, and Daddy wants a big TV."
Smiling was a bit more than he could manage... but that is okay. I am incredibly proud that he spoke to a stranger, and even sat in his lap.
Santa will, without a doubt, bring that big Superman. The TV... not very likely. That is more of a January/February gift in my opinion.

Our baby girl, unlike her brother, just couldn't do the Santa thing. She was REALLY flipping out, crying and kicking... we didn't even get her withing 5 feet of the big guy. We finally had to get her out of sight of him, so that she would calm down. :o(

regarding the tree...

I could never stand to see little "bunches" of ornaments like this...

I guess I've always been anal about my Christmas tree. But this year- with Jacob having enough holiday joy for a large city- I am not going to dampen his spirit...
He can hang ornaments however he likes, and there they will stay.

The fact that his little hands decorated this tree, makes it the most beautiful one I've ever seen!

And then this is kinda cute.
I don't remember hanging this ornament...
(and notice the 7 balls on the one branch above her head, lol!)

This, on the other hand, is SO NOT CUTE! Not once, and especially not 4 times! I am really on the verge of kicking the cat out!

Today I finally got Mom to help me fix it GOOD! Lol!
Just a little hook in the ceiling, and some fishing line...
Of course- now I'll need a plant to hang there January-November.

Cutie pies

In their Christmas outfits last year!
Hopefully we'll have some of this year soon... hint, hint!!!

grab a cup of coffee

prefferably peppermint mocha- as that's my current favorite!
I am going to try to catch up on this blogging thing!

Chopsticks

We took Grandma out for lunch the other day- for Chinese. YUM-YUM!

She was a little bit surprised that my 2 and 4 year old don't eat with chopsticks- and took it upon herself to teach them the *proper* way to eat their sesame chicken.

Jacob was a natural. Would you expect any less? he even managed to eat his lo mein with them!

Lucy did pretty well, too- but got a little clumsy and messy. Again- what did you expect? Lol. She abandoned the chopsticks for the fork after she decided she'd rather *actually* eat!

And of course- the pics!

Puppy update

Emmitt is now 6 months old, and coming along oh-so-nicely. He very rarely has to be crated anymore. Only at bedtime, really, and when we have company.

His manners are quite nice, he is a little afraid of me lately, especially since he knocked all the bottom branches from my Christmas tree. He's even realized that Jacob is above him in the pack, and will follow a few commands if Jacob uses a "big voice."

He's such a sweetie, thinks he's a lap dog, and hates to be left outside alone for more than 2 minutes.
He gets a little excited when we have lots of people over, or lots of food around- but how much can you really expect from a puppy?

I've decided he's the cutest and smartest dog ever. Of course, I may be a little biased. ;o)

the Egg Incident

It's never good to wake up next to this:

And then rush to the kitchen, only to find this:

My daughter is just full of surprises. We have so much "fun."

the Horizon

It's not often that I see one of these, so I had to take a picture.
I also had to HURRY- because I didn't want the owner to come out and find some freak snapping pics of their car!

My first car was a Plymouth Horizon. 1989, I think.
And it looked just like this!

I had to crawl in through the passenger door, it had a seat belt that didn't work, and we spent more money working on it than we paid for it!
But man, I loved that car!

Mardi Gras?

In November?
Maybe just a little. We had beads and a serious lack of shirts, so... draw your own conclusions!

Doesn't my poor boy look super skinny?
That was right after he went 3 rounds with the stomach virus. :o(
He's eating plebty to put some weight back on now, though!

Family pictures 2006

Taken by my favorite photographer!

As always- she did a totally fabulous job. I love that she captures more than just your regular old family pictures. (and this is all I can say, because she has banned me from describing her work to anyone! Lol) She manages to show some of our personality- a little of the family dynamic... a LOT of "Little Miss Personality" shines through when Christine shoots her- as you'll see here!
Thanks, BFF! I love ya!

My 3 babies!

Awwwww....

I love this one- it's like she's saying "Oh no Santa! I forgot to be good!" Lmbo!

the whole set

slacking

I know I am. It's no excuse- but I really have been busy as hell!
If I ever empty out my camera, I've got tons of stuff to share!

Halloween- take 2 (or is it 3?)

I didn't get many pictures the actual day of- but I got a couple!

First- Jacob had a party at school. I took tons of pictures there- but they all have other people's children in them.

We went Trick-or-Treating downtown later that afternoon.
Daddy had to work that night, so we had to get in some fun acyivities before dark!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Okay- this is the sad part...
After Cotton went to work, we met some friends to TOT some more.
This is the only picture I got. :o(

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I had to pin Lucy's bow to her hat, because once it got cold enough to wear it- people kept calling her SuperMAN. She kept saying "I a SuperGIRL!" Cuteness that she is! :o)

The saddEST part is that these are the only
3 pictures I got Halloween night.
The other sad part is that we only hit one street, and my kids got tired--- so my candy stash is mighty small. Almost gone in 7 days, in fact.
That is definitely NOT enough free chocolate!

I cried

Jacob has been drawing these awesome pictures lately. People, cars, hummers, animals... all recognizable!
He brought me this amazing picture of Superman the other night, and wanted me to "put it on the freezer."
I told him to go write his name on it for me.

You see, last week he
brought home a picture of a firetruck from school, and I was amazed to see all of the letters in his name clustered on the corner of the page. I wanted to see him do that again!
So he goes back to the table, and I walk up behind him and see this!
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Look at that PERFECT name!
Not to mention that Superman, complete with cape- peeking out from the other side no less!!! Red boots, blue supersuit,
a "cross" face (yes, cross=mad, he speaks British from watching Thomas. Lol)
This isn't his most detailed face by far, but the cape coming out from both sides blows me away!

I got extremely choked up, and had to wipe some serious tears off of my face. Ask Cotton, he saw me. I was very emotional over seeing a written word from my child's hand!

When did my baby learn to WRITE!?! And since when can he draw like that?
I am so in awe of my son right now. I just cannot believe the things he can do, the words he can use, the way his little mind comprehends so much!
Not so long ago, he was a BABY. My sweet little baby boy. And now... he is growing up way too fast!

Here we go again

Round 3 of the Jacob vs the stomach bug.
Today he will have to miss school because of it.

Anybody want to come babysit?

Monday, November 06, 2006

Wow!

So I was super proud of Jacob last week after he scored 2 goals in his soccer game.
Now, however, I am convinced that he has real talent!

We were playing a team this Sat that was really pretty good. They ahd this one little girl that was FAST, and that little cutie was taking it to the goal, left and right.

Our best player was hurt. Our other very talented kiddo was not there.
The "yellow team," as Jacob called them, was runnning the ball down the field, about to score their third goal. Suddenly, you see this little guy with an orange striped toboggan (that would be MY SON!) run out of the herd- with the ball! He takes it ALL THE WAY down the field, and scores a goal for US! The yellow team, and the fast girl, are on his heels the whole way- but he's just a little faster! And he is determined!
I was screaming so hard that thought I'd lose my voice! Cotton was running behind him, not daring to breathe. Lol.
Once the ball flew into the goal- Cotton started hopping all over the field, screaming "That's MY boy! That's MY boy!" he threw Jacob up in the air. We probably did a little excessive celebrating...

So, unfortunately that was his only goal for the game. But he broke it loose exactly in the same fashion at least 2 more times, and took it all the way home, only to miss his shot. The rest of our team was pumped after that first score- and we ended up winning like 7ish to 2. (we don't actually keep score in this 4yo league, but our kids were scoring like crazy!)

It is such an awesome feeling to watch your kid excell! I really had no idea that he was that good!
I am guessing that since we have 2 other players that are *extremely* talented on the field most of time- the rest of the kids just let them handle the ball all of the time. If you take those 2 out of the equation, you get a chance to see what some of these other kiddos can do!

GOOOOOOOO Jacob!

Only one game left! This Saturday at 9:30. I'm really sad to see it end- but there is always next season.

I need a nap!

Ugh.
So Wedneasday night/Thursday morning at 3:30AM, Jacob wakes us up by tossing his cookies in our bed. Shortly thereafter (and very shortly after Cotton got the bed clean, lol) Lucy gives us an encore for him.
So... I was up all night Wednessday night with them. By Thursday evening, everyone seemed to be fine.

Then LAST night (Sat), Jacob wakes up around 2AM doing "that cry."
Oh no. At least he was in his bed (in my room) this time. I can honeslty say I have never seen so much vomit come from one person. TMI- I know, but GEEZ!
I get him cleaned up and into his bed (in his room), turn on Sprout (24 hour preschool TV! You don't know how great that is until you need it!)...
I make myself and Lucy comfortable in his other bed (in his room).

*Let me interject here that, if you haven't figured it out yet, we are a cosleeping family. Jacob now sleeps in a toddler bed in our room- Lucy sleeps wherever Momma is.
We made a choice to do it, and we are very happy with it, except for when someone pukes in our bed- of course.
Back to the story*

Jacob actually seemed to have emptied out on the first run this time- so as they watch Boobah and Teletubbies, I start to snooze...
Only to be awakened by a strange feeling on my leg.
Lucy had very quietly thrown up all over me and the bed, and was gently whimpering "Momma?" Poor girly. :o(

I'll spare you a few details- although why bother at this point, right?
But we also went through a lot of diapers and a couple of underoos. Stomach bugs are so awful.

Now at 11:30, I've been awake for an hour. They are eating- watching TV (yes AGAIN- give me a break, I'm exhausted), and seem to be okay. Cotton is at work.

And I just need a nap.

Half-assed pumkin patch trip

We barely made it to a pumpkin patch at all this year!
With soccer, and preschool stuff, and daddy working all weekend every weekend, and the fact that it's so faaaar to get to a good one- it just got put off time and again.

But- being the kind of mom that I am- we HAD to go to SOME sort of pumpkin patch, even just for a little bit. They had to wear their matching shirts and have a couple of pictures taken! That's just life with Krysta. ;o)
So... we didn't do the whole fun (hayride, character cut-outs, pick your favorite pumpkin, petting zoo) experience.
Actually- we just looked at pumpkins and took pictures, on October 30th.
And here they are:

HEAVY pumpkins!

"Momma, take a picture of this little one!"

Lucy loved the little bitty ones, and carried around an armload of them for the entire duration of our stay

This big jack-o-lantern was cool!

Of course, blogger is pissing me off. I'll add the rest of the pics if and when it lets me...grrr....

Halloween

it was a blast! We did a ton of fun stuff, and I have a ton of cute pictures. I have a huge candy stash, and there is still an overflowing huge bowl for my 3 kiddies. ;o)

But Halloween was day 2 of this massive migraine. And today is day 3. We are skipping a field trip, because I was in too much pain to sleep last night.

I even took an Imitrex SHOT. It made it worse. I literally couldn't move or open my eyes for 10 minutes after taking it.

Anyway... cute happy, cheerful Halloween post soon to come.
I don't have the patience to do it right now.
