What a PAIN!

A pain in the neck, back, head... not to mention a major inconvenience. Oh, and the pain in the wallet... OUCH!

Our floors are completely stripped, cleaned, refinished, and topcoated.

The kids' rooms have been repainted- but are awaiting touch ups (by Cotton, I refuse to climb on a ladder and paint over my pregnant head). The living room and entry foyer have been touched up, but need REtouching up.

All of the trim, ALL of it from the entire house, is sitting in the garage. It needs to be repainted in places, and put back lower on the walls.

My rugs are mid-cleaning.

The furniture is back inside, thank goodness. Well- all of it except the big sofa that I just couldn't live with any longer.

Soon we will work on the bathrooms, and the master bedroom. Rearranging, painting, and making room for The Bean to move in with us.

Jacob wants his brother in his room- but A: Jacob's room is the smallest in the house, and B: Jacob won't be up nursing him several times a night- so MY convenience wins for now.

And the result of all this hard labor?

We are pleased.

The floors were quite the experiment, and we went out on a limb. After the fact- we realize that we could have easily gotten carpet or laminate for the money we spent. But maybe not with all of the paint, tools, etc... that were extras.

And I do have 5 gallons of low-lustre finish to return today or tomorrow- so that's a good chunk of change.

The floors look pretty darn good.

We love the ease of cleaning that we'll have from now on. Carpet is so gross- if you really sit and think about it. Uck.

Once the walls are all prettified, and the trim is in place- then and only THEN will I share some pictures and have you all over to see the place.

Right now it takes a little squinting and imagination to see where we were going with the look. Lol.
