My cherub

I often think that my beautiful daughter looks exactly like an angel...
At the very least- one of Raphael's cherubs. Of course I'm very biased, but have you seen this face?

The curls, the creamy skin, the eyelashes, the cheeks... the soulful eyes. And then she is just so snuggle-able, she feels so good in your arms! I just can't get enough of her. She probably gets tired of me staring at her- but it can't be helped.

I offer as evidence- some pictures taken during a time when she couldn't possibly be any sweeter. While she was sleeping ;-)

And I will reveal to you the secret. I probably shouldn't, but I will.
Several times in the past few months, I have caught her with this magic brew, in a glass, in her room. Maybe it is a beauty potion, or some extreme hair curlifier. Lol.
See if you can identify it-

Look closely

Good old yellow mustard.
Blech.
But the child LOVES it. Can not get enough.
I make her sandwiches, and she always asks for more mustard.
She eats it with a spoon, for gosh sakes!
She obviously gets this taste from her daddy. Jacob and I are all about the Miracle Whip.

Big day tomorrow. Be sure to keep checking in.
It's "A day in the life of Krysta, Jacob, Lucy, a little Cotton, a bit of Emmitt, and Sam the boisterous bump." TONS of pics. Probably more than you want to see. Lol.

2007 Family Portraits

As we all know- I am a photography whore. The more shutterbugs I can get my family in front of, and the more variety of fabulous pictures I can get on my walls- the happier I am!

So set 1 for this year is brought to us by the lovely (aka HAWT) and talented Rebecca.

SO last night she sends me a sneak peek. I am all a quiver, can't wait to seethe gorgeousness that is my precious family combined with her talent. And I open the following:

Me looking bored (and my back looking awfully fat), Cotton protecting his autographed ball from a Lucy that wants to rub it in the dirt, and Jacob digging for gold! And curls.
Niiiice... so I'm wondering if this shoot would result in anything besides comic relief.

This morning I found this in my inbox:

Awwww.... That's more like it! So much better!
So now I am back into excited/happy mode- and can't wait to see what other goodies she has in store for me! (but no pressure- it's not like she has 2 kids or anything ;-) )

And if I haven't said it enough THANK YOU REBECCA- for your afternoon, and your patience with all of 3 my children. Lol.

And I made Christine pinky swear to do (at least) the kids for me, in Christmas attire. We have to have some sort of Christmasy pic- even if I am feeling much more FOOTBALL spirit than the holiday spirit. Plus- I just have too much fun watching her abuse my family. Rebecca was so very sweet- she didn't even tie anyone up!

Yawn!

Who knew that creating a person was so TIRING!?

I am plum exhausted, all the time. Yes. I said plum.

I keep saying "Today I am just going to rest." I say it every day.
But I never DO it!

I have like 4hrs of DVR'd shows to watch. I have knitting to practice. I have baby bedding and 3 Christmas dresses to make.
Sitting on my butt for a few days is a good idea.
But I can't manage to do it. Darnit. Maybe next week. HA!
Maybe not. We've got" everyone is out of school" playdates, Thanksgiving feast at Jacob's school (did I mention I am in charge of the TURKEY?!?!), the real Thanksgiving at the IL's, and then company that evening here (which entails me cooking again)... aaaaaahhhh.... The life of a hugely-pregnant-but-still-has-a-long-way-to-go mother of 2.

I'm working on my diet diary for Cori. That's fun. I just ate some cookies, and I don't want to admit to them. And I've been GOOD today. And I only had like 4(dozen). Plus my dinner is in the microwave- I wasn't hungry. :-P
Maybe I'll have that in a bit- as soon as Cotton gets here and I get to start Greys.

Sam is starting to kick really hard! I can feel it EASILY with my hand. Cotton and the kids have all felt him now too, which is awesome. The only teeny little draw back is the kicking of the bladder: He kicks my bladder *WHAM* and I have to double over or just flat out pee myself. Good times.

Okay- nothing more to add. I have more to say, but I'm tired and a wee bit hungry. And my space bar is sticking and driving me b-a-n-a-n-a-s.

Okay, maybe Just one last thing- for Summer, because her baby is due on my birthday and that alone would have made me lubb her:

BLUE TWINKIES

;)

(you like that don't you? lmao)

Eeek!

Here's me- in all of my 5 month pregnant glory!
Yes, I said 5 months. Despite my ginormous belly bump, I am nowhere near ready to pop!

Thank, Susan.... err, I think. Lol.

Fun day.

First- the Cowboys WON! Kicked ass would be more appropriate.
8 and freakin 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (no throwing rocks, girls- I am excited!)
Brett Favre had a great day too, which makes me smile. (sorry, Honey :-P )

Jacob found another wiggly tooth. His other top front one. How cute is he gonna be when it falls out? Awww....

We got to hang out with some great friends. Didn't realize how much we loved and missed them, until we spent a few hours together! It had been WAY too long!

And some fun quotes from the kids-

Jacob
"I have NO IDEA where my Romo jersey is." And then he was mad because I laughed at him. He didn't buy the whole "I'm laughing because I am proud of you for using big people words." Lol. But it's the truth!

And Lucy told her brother today that he couldn't touch her sunglasses. Why not? Because
"These are too cool for boys." Lol! She's catching on to this girl thing pretty quickly!

In exactly 4 months- March 12, 2008

Samuel Beau is due to make his appearance.

I dreamed of this baby, wished for this baby, and tried to convince myself that I didn't need this baby.
But my dreams are coming true- because he is kicking away in my belly as I type.

And now we prepare for his arrival.

All of the "stuff" is coming together. Most of it being self-collected, as I fish around for great bargains.
Some of it given to us, because I have the very best friends a girl could ask for!

(Thank you SO much Mel, for the awesome swing and bouncy chair! I am just giddy over them!)

And now we are making plans for the big day- The Birth.
The birthing of my last 2 babies was okay. They were evicted from the womb by drugs, but came out healthy and happy.
The worst part was having them whisked away for stupid BS like blood sugar tests and "shift change," and having my arms ache for hours while I awaited their return. Or having some nurse tell me I HAD to give Lucy formula, which set me into a crying fit. Or just drifting off to sleep, and having someone sneak in- peer down my underwear, and then steal my baby in the dead of night. Or not having so much as a sip of water for 12 hours....
Oh, and the hardest part ever was leaving my sweet baby boy for 3 days while I gave birth to his sister. I'm just not one of those "hospital vacation" people. More power to ya if you are.

I want my entire family within arms reach, at all times. Whenever possible.
I want my kiddos to be right there when their brother takes his first breath. I want their sweet little hands and kisses to be among the first human touches he ever feels. And I don't want him out of my sight EVER. Once I have Sam in my arms- I don't want to put him down for about 30 years. Lol.

So....
I've switched care providers. Birth locations, too.
From now on, my health, and Sam's health- lies in the hands of ME first of all, and secondly Cori, my midwife.
My precious baby is going to be born at home! Into his Daddy's hands. Into the welcoming arms of the people who love him. His family. Into a calm, peaceful bubble- where Mommy is happy, Daddy is happy, and big brother and sister are happy.
Don't be surprised if no one hears from us for weeks! ;-)

And more news- almost as thrilling if you ask me, lol.
The Birth Photographer has agreed to shoot our birth.
What a treasure those pictures will be!
Nicole is such an amazing talent, not to mention such a giving soul.
In the pictures of my last 2 births, well... not many pictures of ME. Was I there? I seem to remember something about the experience. Hmmm...
And of course- the first pictures EVER of Sam will be stunning. Perfect.
I've been watching slideshows on her site and just bawling. I can't wait to see my sweet angel.

I feel like all of the pieces are falling into place.
We are gearing up for the most amazing experience of our lives.
Of course the days my other babes were born were awesome. But I can only imagine taking THOSE days, and improving every little thing. Doing it MY way, surrounded by all of my favorite people. Having my sweet daughter rub my back while I'm hurting. Having my sensitive boy holding my hand and looking at me with his soulful eyes.
And the result of all my hard work- something very like the 2 of them. And a gift TO them.
I just can't wait!

Sibling love and family portraits

Just some random pictures of the monsters. We keep finding them all cuddled up together, sweet as pie. It's as if they like each other- contrary to popular opinion. Lol.

Actually, they ADORE each other. The bond they have is amazing.
I often think of them more as equals or twins than big brother/little sister.
And I wonder how on Earth a third will fit into their neat little dynamic. I'm guessing he'll be more like a pet than a playmate. Lol.

In the recliner:

In Jacob's bed:

And on the couch, both out cold:

AAAWWWWWWwww!!!!!!!

and for part 2 in the"tug your heartstrings" post:

Here we have a family portrait done by Lucy. She surprised me with it. It's the first family picture she ever drew, and melt my heart-it's the WHOLE family.

Top left- mommy, top right- Daddy, the red one is miss Lucy, bottom left is Sam, and the bottom right is Jacob!

A few days later, Jacob puts his spin on it!
He asked everyone's "numbers" while drawing (ages), and how to spell my name.
Across the top in green is "Krysta," backwards.
Then, left to right: Daddy 29, Lucy 3 (complete with curly hair!), Jacob 5, Mommy 28, and Sam. He sounded "S a m" out by himself, I didn't help him! My baby is so smart!

And that-my friends completes the catching up on the blog!
From here on out- it will be all new pictures and information!

Halloween 2007

Ninja Turtle- Raphael, and Cinderella

My beautiful princess!
I made her dress- well... I made the bodice, stole the lace off of a thrift store Cinderella dress, and pieced together the skirt, bought the jewelry...
Jacob's costume was store bought. ;-)

Waiting for Prince Daddy to get ready...
"Come ON Daddy! The candy is waiting!"

After a while- even Jacob decides to sit down.

Not quite as many pictures of the boy, seeing that you can't really even tell is IS him.

Showing off a few moves

We ended up only TOT'ing a couple of streets. They got plenty of candy, though. PLENTY!

Thanks for looking!

Okay, m'dears

I have been working very diligently- trying to link every blessed blog and business you all have to me!
Check my links to the left, and PLEASE- if you are not linked, and you WANT to be- let me know.
Likewise- if you are linked and do NOT want to be, I'll be happy to remove you.

Summer- I didn't want to link you without permission. You know I love you. Just LMK.

Everyone else linked me, so I linked your asses back. Take that! :-P

Bear in mind that I am suffering from extreme pregnant brain.
A lot of new bloggers have popped up recently, and I don't want to leave anyone out. Just holla at ya girl, okay!?

the pumpkin patch

The story of the day is down below, on Oct 24. This is purely a catch-up on pics post!
As anyone who has been reading awhile knows-I have had a pretty hard time sending my first born baby off to school.
I stressed over it for a good year, moped about it for weeks, and still miss him like hell every day.
So, when the opportunity arose to go with him on his first field trip- I was ALL OVER IT!

Brrrr... it was a chilly morning!

Jacob and "Nafan," his favorite playmate down the street.
The lovely pumpkin he decorated (the curly head behind him is my adopted daughter for that day, lol)

Hello, cuteness!

Climbing up to go down the fastest slide on the face of the earth!
He looks good in purple, doesn't he?

Lunch break

Me and my boy!

Love is... this face!

The official kindergarten shirt- can you believe 2020!?

Not only did he ride the school bus, he got to do a little driving as well!
One last pic of our first field trip!
What an awesome day!

Flashback- about a month

Now that I can add pictures!

I give you the 2nd time Lucy drew people- and boy did she draw people! She brought me these pictures, one by one, and wanted them all mounted on the wall with sticky tape!

And because I keep claiming to be huge, without offering any kind of evidence- here are some 17 week belly shots. From 5 weeks ago. I need to take some new ones!

The first one is really blurry, but I love it anyway. All 3 of my babies:

"Where's baby Sam?"

More pics to come! Up next, the field trip, and Halloween! First I must feed and bathe children.

cock-a-dirty-DOO!!!!!!

That is what my beautiful daughter is in her room yelling right now.
I'm guessing that is supposed to be what a rooster says! Lmao!

Prenatal appt today: Perfect. A nice boring pregnancy. Squirmy baby boy. Good heartrate.

My office is beginning to be overrun with baby stuff.
Soon and very soon I plan to start moving some of it to it's forever home- the bedroom, just for the sake of organization. Boy, will that be surreal- looking at a crib and changing table!

Okay- off to vote to KEEP ANNA GROWING, and to make my little princess some chicken soup. In the reverse order, though.

I think I'll try to reload my photo software today.
I have a camera full of Halloween and belly pics to share!~

dinner conversation

As Jacob and I gnawed on our Grandy's fried chicken, again, because mommy HAD to have it (it's not so much the chicken, as the jalepenos that I eat with it...mmmm... spicy goodness) we had a talk. We were actually discussing the rolls with the honey on them. Which Jacob LOVES.

He said
"I don't like the bread. I just want the honey."
I said "You can't eat JUST honey. You aren't a bee." He laughs. "OR a Pooh Bear," I add.
"But I am YOUR Pooh Bear," he reminds me. As if I need reminding.
"Yes, you are my little Pooh. Can I tell your school friends that you're my little Pooh Bear?"

The HORROR! His face shows that he is truly appalled, and he says
"NO! They would laugh and say you treat me like a baby!"

Of course- I would never do that to my child. Not this one, anyway. Well, Not at the tender age of 5 1/2. Maybe at 15.
We also had a lesson on the word *embarrass*, and he has that down pat now. Along with a promise that I will not embarrass him by calling him "my little Pooh" in front of anyone. :-P

He amazes me every day now. Just by acting like, I dunno. A big person. Talking about things I never taught him. Saying phrases that he didn't learn from me or Cotton. It's so odd.

Lucy also learned a new word tonight. She couldn't wait to impress Daddy with her knowledge.
She ran into the room bursting with information:
"DADDY! Poop juice is called diarrhea! Remember?" (remember? is her newest thing. She says it often, but does not always use it properly. lol)

Oh, and I caught Cotton singing "I don't. Like. Candycorn." tonight. Lmao! What an earworm that one is. I've had it in my head for weeks now!

I love my family. Theya re truly the coolest people I know!

Halfway done!

I am 20 weeks pregnant today!

Baby Samuel is 50% baked. Lol.

I feel so great these days, and am finally starting to get somethings ready for him. We'll kick it into high gear after Christmas, but we are starting to gather a few things now.

Jacob is sitting next to me, talking to me in Spanish. Mostly telling me the name of every color in the crayon box-which impresses me!

We had a great day today.
I went with his class- actually the ENTIRE class of 2020, on a field trip to the pumpkin patch.
I was "mom" To 2 other kiddos besides my own. A sweet little girl who had no problem being adopted for the day- she held my hand and thrust her jacket into my arms, and snuggled with me while listening to a story.
And a rowdy little guy who treated me like his mother, probably. He kept forgetting to listen to my directions, lol. But he was cute, and 5, and what do you expect?

I got some great pictures of Jacob, and a few of me with my other 2 kids, and even with some other random kids who wanted to get in my lap as well. ;-D Can I just say I LOVE 5 yr olds? Best age ever so far.

Jacob has a whole 'nother world at school. It was so neat to see him interacting, and playing with his friends, and having a relationship with his teachers. AND seeing his little face light up when I walked into his classroom this morning- priceless.
They had a haunted forest, and my little guy RAN into it. Laughing and screaming the entire time! What is that about? Who IS this kid?

Fabulous day. I loved every second of it!
