You're a big kid now. Time for school, time for making your own friends, your own decisions...

But I can smile through my tears- because you told me just the other day
"Momma, I'm still your baby!"

Relay For Life

I know I've mentioned it, but I HATE CANCER!

I'm doing the Relay For Life in memory of my Grandma Trudy, and in honor of little Brandon.
I'll be walking with my girls, the DAM's, on June 1st!

Jacob told us today that he will find a girlfriend, and they will marry.

I asked him if he'll kiss her, like I kiss Daddy.
"Well... (heehee) I won't kiss her. Because the water in her mouth will be too gross."

I like that approach.
I hope he doesn't change his mind until AFTER the wedding. At which point he will be 30+ yrs old anyway, right?

Then they can find their house that is close to me, so that he won't have to miss me. Because he said he will love me even when he finds a wife.
He promised! :)

Lucy, what do babies eat?

"Babies drink milk. Out of bottles." she says.
Apparently she doesn't remember the first year and half of her own life. Lol.

Number of bottle Lucy drank...EVER...

That would be a big fat zero. Stubborn little mule.

Okay. Just thought that was funny.

Wait- Jacob just walked in, so I asked him what babies drink.
"Well" he says * I so love the "well..." ;) *
"From their moms. When I was a baby I drank out of your bee-baps. Lucy did too. Now we drink milk out of a cow."
Heehee.

Okay. Enough booby talk. Back to my regular blogging.

I really love it when other people photograph my kids.
I get to say "Gorgeous, beautiful, breathtaking..." and I don't sound conceited! Ha!

We owe these amazing pictures to Nicole Eades. Definitely one of the best photographers I have ever met... and selfless enough to do these out of the kindness in her heart.
Just for "fun..." I am just awestruck.

Zion Cemetary, 2007. Take 1.

I love springtime. I especially love the month of April. There's Easter, my birthday, Jacob's birthday, and BLUEBONNETS! My favorite flower. Why? Who knows... but I started drawing them in elementary school, and never stopped loving them.
Maybe it's the excitement of that little window in the spring... just a few precious weeks that they are here. Less than a month of their blue beauty, and then they're gone until next April.

In the area I live in- there is one place that you MUST go if you want to see bluebonnets. Zion cemetary. And we went yesterday... Enjoy!

I was so disappointed last year. There were no bluebonnets- not a single bloom at Zion. :(

I think this year they came back DOUBLE! Blue everywhere you looked, and the smell... oh, it was wonderful!

Eggs, Bubbles, and a Bug

I am a bad, slacker mom.
Jacob had to go through almost 5 years of life, never having dyed an Easter egg! Well- last night- I finally gave in! I decided that it was time to get messy, and waste a bunch of eggs- and let my kids have colored fingers for a week!
I had to enlist some prefessional help, though. Someone that had dyed many eggs in her day, and my day...
GRANDMA!

She made it easy on me- we did it at her house.
She mixed the dye, boiled the eggs, and bought ridiculous hats (why hats? I dunno! Lol)

So here we go!
"Hmmm... it's green!"

Unknowingly- Jacob and I drew the same thing on our eggs! :-D

But the kids had a blast, both sets of kids. Heehee.

And I am over my egg-phobia, so my kids can have a normal childhood from now on! ;)
